A quiet provincial town is shaken by a bloody drama: an elderly taxi driver Makarych unexpectedly becomes the main suspect in the case of the murder of politician Remezov, a candidate for mayor. Makarych has two adult children, and each of them is trying to prove their father's innocence. The eldest son, Vlad, is an employee of the local FSB; he is removed from the official investigation, but he cannot stay away. The youngest daughter, Tina, is trying to get to the truth from her side: she participates in ultimate fighting and moves in criminal circles. The problem is that Makarych's children have not spoken to each other for a long time, and therefore cannot join forces. Moreover, over time, Vlad begins to suspect that his father is not as pure as he thought. And Tina begins to suspect Vlad... And she is not the only one. The case is officially being handled by Elena, Vlad's colleague and former lover. She is sure that Makarych had an accomplice in the ranks of the FSB - who, if not his own son? Meanwhile, the real killer, an elusive and untraceable killer nicknamed the Artist, remains at large. He has not yet completed his task, and one of the heroes is in mortal danger.
