News: Lagardere Distribution has acquired the rights to the NTV adventure series Five Minutes of Silence
Cannes, 16.10.2019 - One of the leading distribution companies in Europe, the French Lagardere Distribution, part of the Lagardere Studios group of companies, has acquired the rights to the NTV action series "Five Minutes of Silence". The deal package included the rights to two seasons of the project, as well as the series format for creating an adaptation.
This is the first deal between the largest producer of action-packed content in Russia and one of the leaders of the French television market.
«Due to the established system of protectionism and protection of national media producers, the French television market has a reputation as one of the most difficult for international companies. I am glad that the action-packed series "Five Minutes of Silence" has attracted the interest of the largest French company Lagardere both as a finished product and as a format. The concluded deal became a real breakthrough for NTV in the European media space,” says NTV General Producer Timur Weinstein.
“Five minutes of silence” is the working phrase of the Ministry of Emergency Situations employees. When clearing rubble, all heavy equipment is turned off at this command, and rescuers listen to the silence to hear possible cries for help from trapped people.
The series tells about the life of a mine rescue team operating in the picturesque forests of Karelia. A new recruit from Moscow joins the experienced Emergencies Ministry workers. From a golden capital guy, saving the lives of others every day, he turns into a hero. Viewers highly appreciated the dynamically developing plot, professionally staged stunts and the originality of the series idea. During the broadcast, the project's share reached 16% among the audience "All 18+".
