A new daring crime has been committed in Limansk: a warehouse of material evidence has been robbed and burned right in the police building. And the first suspect is the city's best operative - Marina Orlinskaya. The robbers who decided to set her up so brazenly knew Marina well, but underestimated her tenacity. They did not believe that she would follow the trail to the end. In fact, Orlinskaya takes not one, but two trails. One, the most obvious, leads directly to one of the city's main bandits. The second, trivial and absurd, rests on a quarrel between two locals over Venus Limanskaya - a statue that has adorned the local embankment for many years. Needless to say, Marina is not looking for easy ways? Of course, she chooses the second trail. And she has no idea what blow awaits her at the end of this beast's path...
