The plot centers on a large, respectable, wealthy and, at first glance, friendly family of Tarmanovs. More than twenty years ago, the head of the family, Georg Tarmanov, founded the company "Max-Pharm", which subsequently became one of the leaders in the international market of pharmaceuticals. Currently, the board of directors includes the daughter and two eldest sons of Georg - Anna, Boris and Victor. The brothers hope to squeeze their sister out of the board and take over the company after their father's death. But when Georg dies, his will shocks the family: it turns out that he left his entire fortune to Anna's son, his grandson Maxim Tarmanov, who drowned in the sea as a boy 12 years ago. And soon Maxim shows up. The young man claims that he was kidnapped, kept on a farm all these years, deprived of contact with the outside world, and only now released without explanation... The happy mother is ready to do anything so that her newly found son does not feel superfluous and alien in his own family. But over time, it begins to seem to her that this boy, from whom someone for some reason took away 12 years of normal life, did not come to them in peace...
